Harbour View were held to a 1-1 draw by Humble Lions in their Digicel Premier League (DPL) and saw their lead reduced to one point after Tivoli Gardens whipped St Georges 3-0.

In the late kickoff at the Compound, Rafeik Thomas continued his good scoring form giving Harbour View a fourth minute lead.

New signee Roberto Fletcher earned a share of the points for Humble Lions netting in the 22nd minute and remained unbeaten against Harbour View in three games.

Harbour View inched to 61 points and maintained pole position while Humble Lions stayed ninth on 35 points.

At the Edward Seaga Stadium, Tivoli Gardens returned to winning way with a stylish 3-0 win over St Georges and closed on the eels of the leader.

Jerry Walters opened the scoring in the 13th minute then two goals in a minute by Navion Boyd and Jameel Thompson in the 42nd and 43rd minutes pushed Tivoli Gardens to an easy win.

Tivoli with their ninth home win and 16 overall moved to 60 points and stayed in touch with the leader Harbour View.

St Georges which came in the game on a high after dispatching Harbour View 2-1 on Wednesday, crashed to their ninth defeat and slipped a spot to fifth on 42 points.

At the Elliston Wakeland Centre, home team Village United had to come from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Arnett Gardens.

Kevin “Pele” Wilson gave Arnett a 13th minute lead from the penalty spot for his seventh goal of the season but Dino Williams burst through to level the scores in the 32nd minute.

Arnett restored the ascendancy after the towering Newton Sterling nodded home a Wilson’s cross and seemed well on their way to another win.

But Troy Smith had other ideas and after referee Kevin Thomas awarded a penalty for a handball in the box, Smith calmly converted in the 69th minute.

It was Smith’s fourth penalty of the season and his 10th goal overall as he moved to fourth in the goal scoring chart.

It was as you were in the table as Village with the point stayed seventh on 37 points while Arnett moved to 35 points and remained in eighth spot.

Boys’ Town scored a close 1-0 win over August Town to secure their first win since January 24 and leapfrogged both Waterhouse and St Georges into third spot.

Dean Thompson netted the all-important goal in the 64th minute as Boys’ Town registered their first win in their last eight games and moved to 44 points.

August Town which was suffering their league high 15 defeat, slipped a spot to 11th on 34 points and into the relegation zone.

Former champion Waterhouse FC continued their poor winless form in the third round after grinding out a 0-0 draw with cellar team Sporting Central Academy at Brancourt.

Waterhouse has not won in their last nine games to be on 44 points and dropped a place to fourth in what has turned out to be a disappointed season.

The Geoffrey Maxwell-coached outfit made a fantastic second round run winning eight of their 11 games and was just three points off the lead.

Since then, they have not won since and are out of the title race with seven rounds remaining.

Clarendon-based Sporting Central remained at the bottom of the DPL with 31 points and they too have not won since the start of the third round.

The only good thing for Sporting is that the teams just above them are within striking distance in which only six points separates the sixth-placed team to the bottom-placed team.

At the Spanish Town Prison Oval home team Rivoli United and Portmore United battled to a 0-0 draw in the St Catherine derby.

Rivoli, with their single points maintained sixth spot with 37 points in their quest for “Elite Group” football for the fourth and finals round.

Portmore, the former four time winner, are struggling despite winning two of their last three games and climbed out of the relegation zone into 10th spot with 34 points.

With two games remaining in the third round, Portmore United are still harbouring thoughts of securing a top six finish.
