The Honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, Minister of Youth Sports and Culture has congratulated Jamaica’s senior netball team, The Sunshine Girls, on their series-leveling win against Australia in the second match of the NCB Sunshine Series at the National Indoor Sports Centre this evening. Minister Grange said, “The Sunshine Girls once again demonstrated their grit, determination and confidence in rallying back to beat Australia after losing to the Diamonds in a close game yesterday.” Miss Grange, who declared the NCB Sunshine Series open yesterday afternoon, said that more and more the Sunshine Girls are showing their main rivals, Australia and New Zealand, that they are challenging for world supremacy. The Minister also praised the coaching staff and the other members of the support group for doing a “wonderful” job with the Girls and again she commended the NCB Group for its sponsorship of the tournament. Minister Grange wished the Sunshine Girls all the best for their games against New Zealand as the NCB Sunshine Series continues later this week.
